Arindam Paul is a senior quantitative developer and exchange connectivity engineer currently based in Amsterdam. He is available for permanent roles and is ready to relocate. After eight years at IMC Financial Markets building trading infrastructure for more than ninety global venues, he is looking for the next challenge — at a firm where technical depth matters and where the systems he builds will trade at scale.

His engineering focus spans two disciplines that are rarely found at the same depth in one person: low-latency systems — ring buffer architecture, zero-allocation JVM, DPDK, NUMA-aware threading, sub-millisecond round trips — and exchange connectivity — FIX protocol, proprietary binary protocols, feed handlers, market data infrastructure, and the full ownership of venue connections from session establishment to order acknowledgement.

Target Roles

Arindam is targeting the following role types, roughly in order of preference based on fit with his experience and ambitions:

• Senior / Principal Quantitative Developer — deep individual contributor work on critical trading systems
• Principal Exchange Connectivity Engineer / Head of Exchange Connectivity — owning and growing a connectivity function
• VP Engineering / Head of Technology — leading a trading technology team at a mid-sized firm
• CTO — at an early-to-mid stage trading technology company where technical leadership and execution are both required

He is equally comfortable as a hands-on senior individual contributor and as a technical leader who builds and runs teams. The right role depends on the firm, the problem, and the team.

Target Geographies

Arindam is focused on four markets where his exchange connectivity expertise is most directly relevant to the firms he wants to work for:

• Singapore — SGX, regional capital markets hub, strong prop trading and HFT ecosystem
• Dubai / Abu Dhabi — ADX, DFM, Tadawul connectivity; growing regional market infrastructure
• Hong Kong — HKEX, Asia-Pacific hub, access to China market connectivity
• New York / Chicago — CME, CBOE, NYSE; deep US equities and futures markets

Visa Eligibility

Relocation is not a blocker. Arindam has assessed his eligibility for the relevant visa pathways in each target geography and is in a strong position on all four:

• Singapore ONE Pass — Employment Pass for top global talent in financial services and technology. Eligible based on seniority, salary history, and IMC pedigree.
• UAE Golden Visa (10-year) — Skilled professional category. Eligible based on specialised technical expertise in financial technology.
• US O-1A — Extraordinary ability visa for individuals at the top of their field. Eligible based on the combination of IMC seniority, Apple acquisition work, and patent authorship.
• Netherlands Top Talent Pass — Already resident in the Netherlands; can be retained for European opportunities or returned to after an overseas engagement.
